InternetSeer is the largest Web site monitoring service in the world. We currently monitor over 3 million Web sites every hour.
InternetSeer is conducting an extensive Study of Web Site Connectivity by randomly monitoring Web sites throughout the world. Each page is monitored on an hourly basis during the Study period. We have two monitoring locations: Philadelphia, PA. and Los Angeles, CA.
To minimize any load on a Web server, we only request the basic header information from a Web site's page to confirm the connection. Each test takes only milliseconds to complete.
Error information is first tested from our primary site monitor in Philadelphia, Pa. then verified by our secondary site monitor located in Los Angeles, Ca. Each site performs multiple checks to insure reporting accuracy.
Upon completion of the Study period, we remove a site from our "active" Study monitoring list.
A summary of our Study results appears to the right.
